Schedule for Leg Day May 1, 2019  -

7:00-8:00 Set up, registration and member early-bird networking at Statehouse Restaurant in basement of State Capitol.

8:00-8:30 Breakfast and Welcome Address -Breakfast Sponsor: Chris Seney, Republic Services, Inc.

8:35-9:30 Opening remarks -  ICAW Resolution author

Compost story video

Brief Review of Talking Points – Kathy Lynch

      Best Practices for Visits – Kathy Lynch

      Review of packets and handouts - Jeff Ziegenbein

9:30-9:35 Kathy reviews map of offices in Capital – How to prepare papers

9:35-10:30 set up on Capitol lawn for tabletop booths  for the suppliers, regulators and members -  (Tabletop booths are open 10:00 until 4:00)        

9:45-12:00 Morning appointments with your legislators

11:30-12:00  Media Time to speak with Board of Directors/Members

12:00-1:00  Luncheon on the lawn of Capital – Lunch Sponsor: Julia Wetstein, Vegware US

Visit tables to chat with equipment vendors, regulators & suppliers

1:00-3:30 Afternoon meetings with legislators and/or regulators

3:30-4:00 Meet under the tent to debrief and share experience and visit trade show tables.

4:00 – 5:00 Reception meet and greet -  (Sponsor Opportunity $600)

  1. Commit to participate now, - send me an email confirmation ASAP,  reserve your flights (if needed) only $100.00 for the day.  Includes advocacy briefing, webinar with lobbyist, breakfast, lunch and reception.
  2. Review overall Plan for the Day above
  3. Receive and review Leg Day Appointment Setting Steps - delivered to you upon your commitment (Will be sent out to every member who signs up)
  4. Set Appointments with your State Assembly Members & Legislators 
  5. Show up at the State Capitol on May 2, 2018! - and join your fellow composters for a day at your State Capitol

For Those Coming in the Night Before:  One nearby hotel ACP members have stayed in is the Residence Inn Sacramento Downtown at Capitol Park1121 15th StreetSacramento, California 95814 Phone(916) 443-0500There is no room block this year.

ATTIRE:   Please plan to dress in business casual, but also be sure to wear comfortable shoes to walk around the Capitol for the day. 

BUSINESS CARDS:   Bring as many of your business cards as possible, they make great leave behinds for legislators and staff members to follow-up with after the Legislative Day.
